Greetings,

Here is a new book, which may provoke at lot of further hot debates on a contentious topic of anti-aging medicine:

The Official Anti-aging Revolution: Stop the Clock, Time is on Your Side for a Younger, Stronger, Happier You
by Ronald Klatz, M.D., and Robert Goldman, M.D., Ph.D. (Paperback - Dec 20, 2007)

Here is an official book description and information about the authors, provided by the Publisher (Basic Health Publications):

Book Description
With medical information doubling every three and a half years, life spans of 110 to 125 years may soon be a reality. Physicians Ronald Klatz and Robert Goldman, pioneers in this brave new world of anti-aging medicine, combine cutting-edge research and the latest medical breakthroughs on longevity, with practical ways for integrating this information into readers's daily lives-how they can live longer, better, and healthier-to create the most comprehensive book on life extension in print today. This book offers a clear understanding of the biological processes involved in aging, the ten key body systems where decline first begins, and the culprits largely responsible for tipping the clock: vitamin and mineral deficiencies and diminishing hormone levels. Readers will learn how to weigh the pros and cons of hormone therapy, naturally stimulate their hormone production, replenish their nutrient stores, strengthen their immune system, nourish their body, burn fat and build lean muscle, revitalize in their sleep, and maintain a youthful mind and spirit. Featuring a longevity test that readers can use to identify how old or young they really are, and the personal life-extension programs of more than two dozen anti-aging specialists. "The Official Anti-Aging Revolution" is the essential resource for anyone who wants to learn how their bodies work, how they age, and what they can do about it.

About Authors
Dr. Ronald Klatz is one of the world's foremost authorities on preventive/longevity medicine. He is senior editor at Longevity magazine, founder and president of the American Longevity Research Institute, co-founder of the National Academy of Sports Medicine, and founder and president of the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine, as well as author of man books and articles. Delaying Brain Aging through Dietary Supplements, Mental Exercises, and 'Healthy' Foods

Greetings,

Recently I have come across a new popular book written by a medical doctor, which suggests a combination of dietary supplements, mental exercises, and 'healthy' foods designed to:

-- Strengthen memory

-- Sharpen focus

-- Speed reaction time

-- Lift brain fog

-- Alleviate hot flashes

-- Preserve hearing

-- Eliminate migraines

-- Prevent brain aging

-- Fight depression

(cited from the book back-cover).

Obviously the claim to "prevent brain aging" sounds as an overkill, but still it may be interesting to hear from the experts here, and those people who have already read this book, whether there are some good practical suggestions there to follow.

The book also suggests a low-carb diet for each of the seven days a week, with non-overlapping menus for breakfast, lunch, snack, and dinner (see pages 87-93 at http://tinyurl.com/2t6jcv ).

Therefore, it may be interesting to hear from the knowledgeable people here, whether there are some good reasons for switching to low-carb diet and permanent ketosis.

Thank you!
